Llew Hughes, owner of Country Pedaller has been riding for
over 50 years.
Raced
BMX in its infancy in Rhodesia as a kid. Always working on
the bikes to make them faster and more reliable. Went to
work at a Bicycle shop as a gopher. I could not be paid
actual money so they gave me parts for free. I built myself
a single speed track bike and raced at a local track. I won
a bunch of junior events. Rugby and Track pulled me away
from the bike. Always had one in the room to look at and
mess with. After my injuries from Rugby and Army healed, I
rode a mountain bike for a couple of years, just to feel the
freedom and air thru my hair. I decided to do some
triathlons. Rode my road bike every day and finished my one
and only Ironman. I got really sick after that and put the
bike away for a few years. I rode a specialized track bike
for a few years. I got back into it because of Lemond and
especially Lance Armstrong. I have been riding ever since.
I got into Bike fitting because I had so much trouble with
my own fit. I have a weird Body type, which causes a lot of
discomfort on my bike. No matter what size I rode it hurt.
So I decided to fit myself. I went to see Paul Swift and he
fit me and showed me the basics. Went to school with him in
San Francisco and have been fitting ever since. The more I
did, the more I learned.
My goal is to help people enjoy their ride. Whatever I
can do to fit the bike to them I will do.
It is all about being comfortable on the bike.
